Croatian port of Split invites prequalification bids for rehabilitation project.

Croatias Adriatic port of Split has invited interested companied to pre-qualify for civil works, concerning the extension and rehabilitation of its passenger wharves on the outer side of the breakwater, a notice published on the Tenders Electronic Daily (TED) said. The closing date of the prequalification tender for the infrastructure rehabilitation project is February 27, 2013. The Split port authority will apply for a loan at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to cover the cost of the project financing. In December, the EBRD said that it was providing an EUR 18.8mn sovereign-guaranteed loan to the Split port in order to extend and rehabilitate the passenger wharves, aiming to increase the capacity of the port and enable it handling large and medium-sized ships and relieve congestion at the existing ferry berths.
