Poland's current consumer sentiment indicator was unchanged on the month in April and amounted to -30.3pts, while it declined by 3.5pts in annual terms, according to a survey carried out by national stats office (GUS) and the National Bank of Poland (NBP). At the same time, the forecast consumer sentiment indicator inched by 1.2pps m/m to -34.7pts and was down by 4.9pts on the year. The stagnation of the current indicator resulted mainly from improved assessments of households' current major purchases (up by 1.7pps) and, to a lesser degree, their financial situation (up by 0.4pps).The slight improvement of the forecast indicator was attributed to better expectations concerning the unemployment level (up by 3.5pps) as well as savings outlook (up by 2.5pps). The indicator's range is from -100 to +100 pts. Its positive value signifies a numerical majority of optimistic consumers to pessimistic consumers. |
