CEE's biggest IT firm Asseco Poland sees no sector revival yet.

By bne IntelliNews May 19, 2010
The consolidated 2010 backlog of CEE's biggest IT company Asseco Poland is worth of PLN 2,106mn (EUR 524mn), which is close to a level reported a year before, the firm's CEO Adam Goral has said. He admitted that his firm did not yet notice any signs of revival in the IT sector. Out of the consolidated backlog, PLN 1,545mn are proprietary software and services. The firm's unconsolidated backlog totals PLN 856mn, of which proprietary software and services are PLN 635mn, he also announced. Asseco Poland reported revenue of PLN 690.61mn (EUR 171.6mn) and net profit of PLN 95.49mn (EUR 23.7mn) in Q1/2010. Asseco Poland could make a decision on taking over two Spanish sector firms in June, Goral also said. He announced that Asseco Poland was currently carrying out an audit at one firm and would soon do the same at the other. Both Spanish firms have annual net profits of around EUR 2mn. Asseco Poland is also holding talks regarding possible acquisitions with other Spanish, Italian, Swiss, Finnish and German companies. Asseco announced that it raised PLN 209.43mn (EUR 52mn) from its latest share issue and that it plans to spend these funds on takeovers. ISB, tom
