Businessman Dmytro Firtash intends to acquire a petroleum refinery in Ukraine with the aim of building a base for petrochemical production on its basis. He stressed that the petroleum refining industry in Ukraine is presently in crisis. He noted that only one of the six petroleum refineries in Ukraine - the Kremenchuk petroleum refinery (Poltava region) - is presently in operation. An informed source has told Ukrainian News that Firtash has reached a preliminary agreement with the Kherson petroleum refinery's owner Ihor Yeremeev on creation of a petrochemical complex based on the refinery. |
