Bourse trading volume in Slovakia down by 29.7% m/m in Aug.

The trading volume at the Bratislava Stock Exchange (BCPB) amounted to EUR 327.9mn in August, which is a decrease by 29.7% m/m, the bourse informed. Share turnover represented a traditionally small 3.1% part of the total trading and shrank by 4.6% m/m. A significant portion of the share trading was generated by direct deals with shares in the mountain resort operator Tatry Mountain Resorts. A total of EUR 317.5mn worth of securities were traded on the bourse during the month with their number decreasing by 47% m/m. The number of transactions declined, too, by 8.4% m/m. The market capitalisation narrowed by 3.7% m/m to EUR 25.9bn at the end of August. The official bourse index SAX closed the month at 226.5pts, increasing by 6% m/m and falling by 26.3% y/y.
