Bosnias Serb Republic GDP to rise by 2.5% next year.

The gross domestic product of Bosnias Serb Republic (RS) is expected to reach KM 8.85bn in 2011, or by 2.5% higher than planned for 2010, Nezavisne Novine reported citing Economic Policy RS forecasts. In the period from 2005 to 2009, the countrys GDP had been rising by 4.6% on average in real terms. We note that according to the latest data of the RS statistics office, the Serb Republics GDP rose for a second quarter in a row, increasing by 2% y/y in Q3 from 0.9% in Q2. The entitys economy had previously registering contractions for three consecutive quarters. Inflation is projected to reach 2.3% y/y in 2011, slowing down from the 2.5% estimated for 2010. The unemployment rate is forecasted to reach 23.2% in 2011.
