Bosnias air passenger traffic up 1.2% y/y in October 2012.

The combined air passenger traffic of Bosnias four international airports increased by 1.2% on the year to 59,176 in October 2012 after climbing 9.7% in September, the countrys directorate for civil aviation, BHDCA, said on its website. In monthly terms the number of passengers fell by 22% in October, following a 5.9% drop in September. The number of airplane operations last month surged by 68% y/y to 1,214. The bulk of the passenger traffic was serviced at the Sarajevo airport, where 52,115 travellers boarded or landed in October, down 1.6% on the year. The Mostar airport was the second busiest airport in the country as it handled 6,360 passengers in October 2012, up 49% y/y. The Banja Luka airport saw a 22.7% annual decline in the October passenger numbers to 642 and only 59 travellers used the Tuzla airport, down from 426 in the same month of 2011.
