Bosniak party SBB to support nominated PM-designate Kukic.

By bne IntelliNews June 21, 2011
The small parliamentary group of the Bosniak party Alliance for a Better Future (SBB) will support the PM-designate nominee of the State Presidency, Slavo Kukic, Nezavisne Novine daily reported. The candidate had meetings with representatives of six political parties from the Federation BiH and received the support of five of them. Apart from SBB, Kukic can count on the votes of the representatives of the parties, which are forming the ruling coalition in the Federation the Social Democratic Party (SDP), the Party of Democratic Action (SDA), the National Party Work for Prosperity (NSRZB), and the Croat Party of Rights (HSP). However, the lawmakers from the Party for BiH (SBiH) will vote against him. SBiH deputy chairman Beriz Belkic explained that SBiH would act as opposition and would not support the candidates for PM-designate. The State Parliament should vote on the Presidency's proposal next week. We believe that there are slim chances for Kukic to be confirmed as PM-designate, as his nomination is not supported for the time being by the major ethnic Croat parties, as well as by the parties from the Serb Republic. In order to take over the position, Kukic needs to get support from the MPs of both the Bosnian Serb entity and the Muslim Croat Federation. Otherwise, the Presidency will have eight days to come up with a new candidacy. The establishment of a new state-level cabinet has been seriously delayed. Bosnia held its general elections in early October 2010.
