Zenica municipality mayor Husejin Smajlovic expects the company that will build the first stage of the towns ring road to be selected in June at the earliest, Onasa news agency reported. An approval on publishing the tender for contractors is to be granted by March 15. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has already approved the extension of a USD 25mn loan to co-finance the project, whose total cost is estimated at KM 47mn. The first stage of the construction works, valued at KM 22mn, is expected to start in the spring of 2011. The road will have a length of 7.85km and will connect Vc corridor with road M-17. The project will also include the construction of a 3.25km road inside Zenica and two bridges over the Bosnia and Koceve Rivers. Saudi Arabia has so far provided USD 25mn to support the construction and equipment of four hospitals in the country. |
