Bosnia was ranked 37th in Europes purchasing power survey of market research agency GfK, biznis.ba newswire reported. The average income per capita in Bosnia stood at EUR 2,432, compared to Europes average of EUR 11,945. The low purchasing power is explained with the high unemployment and the fact that the average wage in the country vary from KM 700 to KM 800 (EUR 357.9-409), Gordana Bulic, head of the consumers association said. In regional comparison, Bosnia lags behind most of its neighbours. Croatia was rated 29th with EUR 4,808 income per capita, followed by Montenegro (32nd place with EUR 3,260 per capita), Serbia (34th - EUR 3,033). Macedonia shared the same place with Bosnia with an average income per capita of EUR 2,492. The survey covered 42 European countries.
