Austrian Porr completes key projects in Serbia in 2010.

By bne IntelliNews December 22, 2010
In 2010, Austrian construction company Porr completed the construction of a bridge over the Sava river within the set deadlines, constructed two landfills and took part in road construction projects in the capital Belgrade, Tanjug news agency reported, citing Porr director in Serbia Martin Kukacka. Kukacka announced that Porr would take part in the project to build access roads for the bridge over the Sava river as well. Porr employs some 1,000 workers in Serbia, where it has been operating since 2003. Porr has managed to assure investors and the general public in the quality of its work and thus has secured projects for the next two years, Kukacka pointed out. Kukacka also expects the arbitration process over the Horgos-Pozega highway concession contract to continue before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Paris next spring. However, he stressed there was still plenty of time for Porr and Serbian authorities to settle the dispute and avoid a long arbitration process. As recalled, the Serbian government has terminated the Horgos-Pozega concession contract, as concessionaires Austrian Alpine and Porr failed to provide guarantees for financing the project.
