Albanias flag carrier Albanian Airlines, which was grounded last year, has filed a complaint at the competition authority against the dominant position of its rival Belle Air, local news agency Lajmeshqip reported. The decision of the antitrust body is expected within weeks. Albanian Airlines argued that the decision of the Albanian Civil Aviation Authority to revoke its air operator's certificate harms competition and favours the monopoly position of Belle Air. According to the latest data provided by Tirana International Airport (TIA), Belle Air was Albanias leading air carrier in terms of passengers traffic with a 45.8% share in January-September 2011. Albanian Airlines ranked second with a share of 10%.
