Vodafone Turkey allocates EUR 592mn to expand operations.

CEO of Vodafone Turkey , Serpil Timuray informs that the cell phone company allocated TRY 1.3bn (EUR 592mn) to expand operations in the country in 2009 and 2010. Stating that the sector recorded 2% growth in revenues in Jan-Sep this year, Timuray notes that the company expects a higher growth next year. Vodafone Turkey increased the number of customers to 14.9mn in Apr-Jun, Timuray says and adds that the figure rose to 15.6mn net customers in Jul-Sep thus the company recorded a 718,000 increase in net customers. The market share of the company rose 1.1 points to 24.5% in Jan-Sep, Timuray states. Timuray also says that 11% of the customers of the company are 3G users. The company currently has 13,000 2G and 3G base stations and will increase this number to 15,000 next year, Timuray details.
