US medical equipment producer BD completes EUR 100mn plant in Hungary.

US producer of supplies for the healthcare industry BD Medical Pharmaceutical Systems launched operations of its new plant in Hungary , the company announced. The facility is located in the city of Tatabanya in the northern part of the country and the location was selected due to the availability of skilled labour force and proximity to target markets. Its area was 25,000 sqm and would produce disposable syringes. Currently, employment at the plant was 100 people but the workforce was planned to expand to 500 in 2014 when the investor intended to reach full production capacity. Total investment cost for the construction amounted to EUR 100mn.
