Unemployment rate declined to 6.14% in August.

Indonesia's unemployment rate declined to 6.14% in August this year, as compared to 6.56% registered during the same period last year. As reported by LKBN ANTARA, BPS Chief Suryamin, stated that the country had 7.24mn people in the labor force during the period, as compared to 7.7mn in the same month last year. The sectors like aagricultural, trade, public service and industrial sectors gave the biggest contributions to the creation of job opportunities. The number of job seekers employed in the agricultural sector declined by 1.14% recording at 450,000, the trade sector by 1.07% registering at 250,000, the transportation, warehousing and communication sector by 1.57% posting at 80,000 during the period.
