Unemployment level in Kazakhstan keeps flat in May at 5.1%.

Unemployment level in Kazakhstan stood at 5.1% in May remaining unchanged since the start of the year, according to the newest data from the State Stat Agency data. The number of unemployed amounted to 466,400 people.

As of May-end, the number of the unemployed officially registered with the employment offices of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection came to 61thsd people or 0.7% of the economically active population. The level of hidden unemployment stood at 0.4% of the economically active population.

The number of working people amounted to 8.8mn and increased by 169.1thsd people (2% y/y). The number of hired personnel stood at 6mn people. Kazakhstan's population amounts to 17mn people.
