Ukraine plans to increase uranium production by 23.3% y/y in 2012.

In 2012, Ukraine plans to increase production of uranium by 23.3% y/y to 1,100 tonnes. In order to increase the production of uranium the government plans to allocate UAH 0.5bn from the 2012 budget (for the implementation of measures of the target government economic program "Nuclear Fuel of Ukraine"). To note, in 2010 the only Ukrainian uranium mining company, Eastern Mining and Processing Plant, produced 848 tonnes of uranium concentrate.
