Two Taiwanese companies plan USD 820mn investment in Turkey.

Local daily Sabah reports that two Taiwanese companies plan a total of USD 820mn investment in steel and petrochemicals sectors. According to the daily the authorities decline to give the names of potential investors but one of the investors is Taiwans China Steel. Sabah reports that China Steels investment in Turkey will be around USD 520mn and the company plans to export 80% of products it produces at its Turkey plant. The other Taiwanese firm, whose name has not been disclosed, plans USD 300mn investment in Turkey and it is likely to focus on tire production, according to Sabah.
