Reuter quotes an unmanned source as saying that Turk Telekom (TT) will sign fibre optic contracts in Jordan, Syria and Saudi Arabia on Jun 16. The source asserts that the contracts to be signed are part of TT's acquisition of Invitel and those complementary agreements will expand TT's market share in data traffic between Europe, the Middle East and Turkey. Earlier this week, local daily Hurriyet quoted TT board member, Abdullah Tivnikli as saying that TT is exploring acquisition opportunities in Europe without providing details.
