Turkey, Azerbaijan sign key agreements on natural gas transport.

The governments of Turkey and Azerbaijan signed important agreements on the transport of Azeri natural gas. According to the agreements, Turkey will import annually 6-7bn cubic meters of gas from Shah Deniz II project and it will have the right to re-export natural gas to the third countries. Daily Sabah reports that Azerbaijan will pay Turkey a transport fee of USD 45/1,000 cubic meters thus Turkey will raise an annual revenue of USD 300mn from the transport of Azeri natural gas to Europe. With the other key agreement the price of natural gas Turkey imports from Shah Deniz I project increased to USD 300/1,000 cubic meters from USD 120/1,000 cubic meters. Energy minister Taner Yildiz says that local end-users will not be affected from the price adjustment.
