Spanish EU presidency hopes to open four negotiation chapters with Turkey.

Foreign minister Spain , Miguel Angel Moratinos, says that they hope to open four new policy chapters with Turkey during Spain s EU presidency. Total of 12 policy chapters have been opened so far. Accession negotiations between the EU and Turkey started in 2005 and in 2006 the EU decided to freeze talks on eight policy chapters over Turkey s refusal to open ports to Greek Cypriots. Only one chapter that is the science and research was closed.
