Slovenia to reconsider Telekom Slovenije acquisitions in Macedonia, Kosovo.

By bne IntelliNews February 5, 2010
The Slovenian economy ministry will investigate Telekom Slovenijes acquisition of peers in Macedonia and Kosovo after doubts for sale irregularities emerged, local TV channel Kanal 5 said quoting Slovenian daily Dnevnik. Telekom Slovenije paid EUR 190mn for Macedonian wireless operator Cosmofon which was by far the highest price in the tender. After the completion of the deal, Telekom Slovenije claimed that the number of subscribers turned out to be much lower than what the companys presentation said. ONE, which is the company resulting from the merger Telekom Slovenijes local units Cosmofon, Internet and fixed-line provider On.net and retail chain Germanos, said such revisions are normal considering the recent managerial changes in ONE. There are two other wireless telecoms in the country Telekom Austria s VIP Operator and Magyar Telekom's Mobile Macedonia .
