Russias Protek Group opens EUR 3.8mn plant in Macedonia.

Russias pharmaceutical company Protek Group has opened a EUR 3.8mn plant in Macedonia where it will produce homeopathic medicines, organic and inorganic food products and tea, the Macedonian government said in a statement on its website. The factory, covering an area of 5,000 sq m in the free economic zone Bunardzik near Skopje, will be operated by Proteks local unit Prodis. Initially 45 people will be employed in the plant and their number will be increased to 80 by the end of 2012 as Protek plans to invest EUR 400,000 euro more in the project in the next two months. The second stage of the project should be completed by 2015 and involves building additional 4,000 sq m of production facilities and employing other 80 workers. Protect Protek Group is involved in the manufacturing of medicines, distribution of health and beauty products as well as in retail.
