Russian energy minister guarantees gas deliveries to Bulgaria, other EU states.

Russian state-run gas major Gazprom will deliver the negotiated volumes, Russian energy minister Sergey Shamtko assured Bulgarian economy and energy minister Traycho Traykov and Bulgarian finance minister Simeon Dyankov, who are on a visit in Russia. Shmatko explained the reduction of the gas deliveries to the Balkan countries with the higher consumption as a result of the bad weather conditions, the Bulgarian economy ministry informs. Last week, Bulgarian gas transporting company Bulgartransgaz said that the deliveries for Bulgaria had fallen 30% below the agreed quantities and the economy ministry organised a working group to monitor the gas supply and the gas transit. A day later (on February 4), the ministry informed that the gas supplies had moved back to normal. Still, the Confederation of the Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria, quoted by investor.bg, claims that some companies complain of reduced gas deliveries in the past few days.
