Romanias ILO unemployment down 0.8pps y/y to 6.6% in January.

The seasonally-adjusted ILO unemployment reported for the broad 15-74 age brackets decreased by 0.8pps y/y to 6.6% in January, the countrys statistics office reported. For the narrow brackets of 25-74 years, the decrease was only 0.7pps but the unemployment rate was also smaller, only 5.2% in January. Romanias ILO unemployment has been decreasing constantly over the past year from a maximum of 7.7% [the broad age brackets] in September 2011. Unemployment stayed at above 7.5% in 2010-2011 after the industrial companies have adjusted employment in 2009 and the government also attempted to reduce public employment during the recession years yet, it never exceeded 8%.
