Romania not to liberalise gas market immediately.

By bne IntelliNews February 4, 2011
The government will not liberalise the natural gas market immediately, but the measure could be introduced gradually, economy ministry state secretary, Karoly Borbely, told Mediafax. The IMF expert team, visiting Romania, suggested earlier this week liberalisation of natural gas prices for all industrial users, while maintaining regulated prices for residential users and public facilities. The government announced that no such plans are currently considered, but the energy regulator will be asked to run a study on the effects of a full liberalisation of the natural gas and electricity markets.
