Presidents of Albania, Romania confirm good bilateral ties.

The presidents of Albania, Bamir Topi and Romania, Traian Basescu, confirmed good bilateral ties at a one-day official visit of the Romanian head of state to Tirana on Tuesday, June 8. Basescu spoke of the EU visa liberalization process, highlighting that it was a natural process and will happen very soon. On his part, Topi praised the support provided by Romanian authorities to Albanias Euro-Atlantic integration. The two heads of states also agreed that the level of bilateral economic cooperation needs to be expanded, especially in the fields of energy and tourism. Meanwhile, the respective government delegations signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of communication and information technology. The Albanian Port Authority inked protocol on cooperation with the port of Constantza, which is Romanias main port.
