Political talks on Trans Adriatic Pipeline progress in Albania, Italy.

The Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), a joint venture company set up by Swiss-based EGL and Norway s StatoilHydro, reported excellent progress in talks with state authorities in the country and Italy as well. Companys representatives held a series of meetings with ministry of environment and members of the cabinet, following the establishment of companys representative office in Tirana in January. TAPs technical director Christian Falck described as very constructive talks with local state authorities. Moreover, Italian government has also shown great interest in TAPs progress, which confirms that the project moves into right direction, companys managing director Robert Klein said. We note that Albania , Italy and Greece will host the implementation of EUR 1.5bn project for the construction of 520km gas pipeline with capacity of about 10bn cubic meters per year. The project has already received political support from the newly appointed Greek government, which is in charge since October 7.
