Poland's mobile penetration rises to 132.7% in Q4 from 129.3% in Q3.

Mobile telephony penetration in Poland rose to 132.7% at the end of Q4 of 2011 from 129.3% a quarter earlier, according to national stats office GUS. At the end of Q4 of 2010, the figure was 124.3%. The number of active SIM cards was 50.70mn at the end of September of this year, up by 1.29mn on the quarter. At that time, Poland's population was 38.22mn. GUS also reported that in January-November of 2011, prices of telecommunications services dropped by 1.2% y/y compared to a decline of 4.5% y/y in the same period of a year before (and vs. fall of 4.1% in the entire 2010).
