The pan-European banking supervision needs to take into account equal rights and obligations of all of its members, or else a mechanism will be created in which several EU member-states, including Poland, will not participate, according to PM Donald Tusk. He was speaking before the start of two-day EU summit dedicated primarily to the new banking union's plans. The premier also commented the recent media rumour, under which the European Commission's current proposal meant that non-euro-zone members would have no right of vote in the common banking watchdog's decision-making process. According to Tusk, such a solution would mean that ensuring equal rights is very difficult, if not impossible. |
