PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan referred to NATOs article 5 and said that NATO had a responsibility to protect Turkish borders. Erdogans comment came shortly after Syrian forces opened fire across the border earlier this week, killing at least two Syrians, who were crossing from Syria to Turkey. The article 5 says that an armed attack against a member country shall be considered an attack against all members.
