PACE suspends voting right of Albanian delegation.

By bne IntelliNews January 26, 2010
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has suspended the right to vote to Albanian permanent parliamentary delegation, on suspicion of irregularities with the credentials of one of its members. Member of the opposition Socialists Party Shpetim Idrizi refused to be part of the delegation arguing that he has not yet sworn-in in the national assembly. Furthermore the Council of Europe argued that former Democratic Party lawmaker and PACE delegation vice-president Aleksander Biberaj has been removed in a way that breached the rules. PACE will make a decision on the ratification of the credentials on Thursday.
