One-third of Macedonians support no political party - poll.

If parliamentary elections were to be held tomorrow, one-third of the eligible voters would abstain from voting, local media reported a survey conducted by the Pavel Satev Institute among 1,080 respondents on May 17-18. The ruling VMRO-DPMNE would win 23.1% of the votes. Next would rank left-wing opposition SDSM with 10.5%, ethnic Albanians' Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) 5.7%, opposition Democratic Party of Albanians (DPA) 2.4%, and ethnic New Democracy (ND) 1.4%. The most popular politician according to the survey was PM Nikola Gruevski with 25.1%, followed by SDSM leader Branko Crvenkovski with 8.9%, DUI leader Ali Ahmeti with 5.6% and DPA leader Menduh Thaci with 2.1%. As many as 82.5% of the respondents said they support EU accession.
