The MTS Ukraine mobile communication operator has posted net profit of UAH 1.98bn (USD 248mn), up by 72% y/y. The companys revenues in 2012 grew by 6% y/y to UAH 9.68bn. In 2012, OIBDA increased by 13% to UAH 4.919bn. The company's average revenue per user (ARPU) was UAH 39 as in 2011. MTS ended 2011 with profit of UAH 1.151mn, when its revenues rose by 7% y/y to UAH 9,104mn. Mobile Telesystems (MTS) of Russia owns 100% of the shares in MTS Ukraine. As we reported recently, another major mobile operator Kyivstar and Beeline (Ukrainian Radiosystems and Golden Telecom) recorded an EBITDA of UAH 6.867bn for 2012, down by 1% y/y. In 2012, the operators' net operating revenues increased 2.4% y/y to UAH 13.392bn. This includes UAH 12.326bn of income from the mobile telephony segment, an increase by 1.8%.
