Middle East air carriers report 18% y/y rise in passengers in October.

The number of passengers serviced by Middle East air carriers rose by 18% y/y in October, compared to a growth of 23.9% in the previous month, Arabian Business reported citing figures from the International Air Transport Association (IATA). The Middle East had a share of 10.7% share of the international passenger traffic and was the fastest-growing region outstripping the global average of 10.1% growth and local capacity expansion of 13.7%. Cargo demand in the region surged by 22.7% y/y in October, above the global levels which averaged at 14.4% growth.
