Manufacturer of Sikorsky plans to establish plant in Turkey.

Foreign trade minister Zafer Caglayan says that the manufacturer of Sikorsky helicopters, United Technologies, wants to build a helicopter plant in Turkey, without providing details. Defence minister Vecdi Gonul informs that the size of the local defence sector stands at USD 2.3bn and its exports quadrupled over the last seven years to USD 800mn. Caglayan expects the local defence sector's exports to exceed USD 1bn in 2011.
