Macedonias retail trade turnover up by nominal 1.1% y/y in Feb 2012.

Macedonias retail trade turnover increased by a nominal 1.1% y/y in February 2012, speeding up from an annual growth of 0.3% a month earlier, data from the statistics office showed. In real terms, the retail trade turnover dropped by 1.2% y/y and accounted for 51% of total distributive trade turnover. Wholesale trade turnover rose by a nominal 9.7% y/y in February, well below the 25.3% rise registered in January. The subsector accounted for 44% of total distributive trade turnover. Turnover of trade in and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles accounted for the remaining 5% of the total. Turnover in this subsector decreased by 19.4% y/y in February, after rising by a nominal 1.1% y/y in January.
