Macedonian-Turkish consortium to invest EUR 4mn in marble quarry, plant.

A Macedonian-Turkish consortium between Pri-Mar International and Orto Mermeri will invest EUR 4mn in a white marble plant near Galabica, southern Macedonia, local media reported. The company will initially hire 50, who will start extracting the marble, and will further on expand its workforce to 200 for the marble processing operations. The consortium has already obtained the necessary permits for the 20-year concession. The output will be exported mainly to Turkey, Europe and the Middle East. The marble quarry is located in proximity of the countrys biggest marble and granite producer Mermeren Kombinat Prilep.
