By bne IntelliNews September 9, 2010
Local AB Solar will invest EUR 5mn in the construction of a photovoltaic plant with an installed capacity of 1MW in Suvodol, southwestern Macedonia. The location was selected since it has an average of over 300 sunny days annually. The construction of the power unit is expected to take several months, but no specific deadline has been announced. Macedonia in its capacity of EU applicant is taking into account the target of the EU energy strategy for 20% of all generated energy should come from renewable sources by 2020. Estimates show that solar energy is the green energy sources with higher potential in Macedonia.
