Macedonia sets up tripartite economic, social council.

The government, the trade unions and the employers association signed an agreement, establishing a Social and Economic Council, local media reported. Deputy PM in charge of economic issues, Vladimir Pesevski, commented that the new body will serve as basis for improving the social dialogue and for discussion of draft legislation. According to labour minister, Xhelal Bajrami, the council will set up a mechanism for creating social policies, that will favour the preferences of the three parties.
