Macedonia drops 34 spots in global press freedom ranking.

Macedonia occupied the 68th place in a global ranking based on the 2010 World Press Freedom Index, compiled by the organization Reporters Without Borders. The countrys standing thus deteriorated by 34 spots from its previous years position. The top spot in the 2010 ranking is shared by Finland, Iceland, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland. Macedonias standing compared to other countries in the region, remains relatively good. Slovenia (46th), Bosnia and Herzegovina (47th) and Croatia (62nd) rank better, but Bulgaria (70th), Albania (80th), Serbia (85th), Kosovo (92nd) and Montenegro (104th) occupy worse positions.
