LV: Latvias VAT rate fourth highest in EU.

After hiking the basic VAT rate to 22% this year from previous 21%, Latvias VAT rate is the fourth highest among EU member states, according to the data by the European Commission. The highest VAT rate of 25% is in Denmark, Hungary and Sweden, Romania has 24% rate, while Portugal, Greece, Finland and Poland all have a 23% VAT rate. This year, the VAT rate has been increased in Switzerland, Britain, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia and Greece).
