Latvian ports handled total cargo volume of 16.3mn tons in Q1, which indicates increase of 4.7% y/y, the Latvian Ministry of Transportation announced. Bulk cargo accounted for 7.3mn tons in Q1, up by 0.1% y/y. Liquid cargo accounted for 6.2mn tons, up by 3.4% y/y. General cargo volume increased by 22.2% y/y in Q1 and amounted to 2.9mn tons. Riga remained the biggest cargo port in the Baltic States reloading 7.7mn tons of cargo in Q1, up by 7.5% y/y. There are three large ports and seven small ports in Latvia. |
