LV: airBaltic and Riga Airport to settle the conflict outside court.

By bne IntelliNews August 18, 2010
National air carrier airBaltic and Riga International Airport (RIX) signed a memorandum of understanding in which they agree to withdraw claims to each other from the court and to further cooperate. To remind, the conflict between the airline and the airport started over the tariffs system, which airBaltic claimed to be unfair and discriminatory, filing a LVL 6mn compensation claim agains RIX. RIX, in turn, tried to block airBaltics accounts claiming LVL 3.4mn large debt on tariffs and servicing costs. RIX is fully state-owned and 52.6% of airBaltic stakes belong to the state (the rest being held by Baltijas Aviacijas Sistemas controlled by airBaltic CEO Bertold Flik).
