Naftos Grupe announced plans to build a waste power plant, which would produce power from communal waste. The technology comes from Swiss company Matrix. It is planned that the plant would pay off in 10-15 years. Naftos Grupe plans to invest up to LTL 300mn (EUR 87mn), and create up to 130 vacancies. Donatas Jonikas, head of strategic development at Naftos Grupe, said that the company would separate no energy bearing waste such as sand, metals and would use the rest for the power generation. The company plans that using this technology only 7-10% of initial waste would end up in landfills. |
