LT: Unemployment in Lithuania at 13.2% in 2012.

Lithuanian unemployment rate amounted to 13.2% in 2012, down by 2.1pps y/y, Statistics Lithuania announced. In 2012, there were total of 195 thousands unemployed people, down by 30,900 people y/y. Average male unemployment stood at 15.1% in 2012, down by 2.6pps y/y, while female unemployment rate stood at 11.5%, down by 1.4pps y/y. Long-term unemployment amounted to 6.5%, down by 1.4pps y/y. In 2012 total number of people in employment stood at 1.3mn people, up by 1.8% y/y. 90.6% of employed people worked full-time. 15-64 years old population employment rate stood at 62.2%, up by 1.9pps y/y. Youth (15-24 years old) unemployment declined by 5.8pps y/y to 26.4% in 2012. In Q4 total unemployment level stood at 13.0%, up by 0.7pps q/q. Male unemployment stood at 14.1%, while female unemployment stood at 11.9% in Q4.
