LT: 29% of Internet users buy online in Lithuania.

A survey conducted by a market research company Rait indicates that of all the people using Internet in Lithuania, 29% indicated that they make purchases online, which indicates 12pp y/y increase. The survey was conducted in May, with total of 1,000 respondents surveyed. 67% of all the respondents indicated that they are using Internet, of which 69% indicated that they are not making purchases online. Among the people that make purchases on the Internet, 42% indicated that they buy more often on the Internet than a year ago, 24% make the same amount of purchases as last year, and 17% make less purchases on the Internet. Inga Nausediene, head of the company, indicated that online commerce has been growing very fast due to cheaper prices on the Internet and growth in number of e-commerce shops. The survey indicates that the profile of a respondent that makes purchases on the Internet is 25-34 years old, urban dwellers, with income of more than LTL 1,100 (EUR 320) per household member.
