The lower chamber of parliament (Sejm) has passed the 2012 state budget draft with 233 votes for and 200 votes against (in the 460-strong house). The central budget deficit's limit has been set at PLN 35.0bn (EUR 8.2bn) with revenue at PLN 293.7bn. The average annual inflation is projected at 2.8%. The document now heads for the upper chamber (Senate); if it introduces any amendments, they will be tackled by Sejm - otherwise, the bill will go directly to the president for his signature. The president cannot veto the state budget law.
