Italian utility group Enel will invest EUR 800mn in Romania by 2015, primarily in strengthening efficiency processes and initiatives to expand its customer base, the company's news release on its 2010 financial results said. Enel operates an electricity distribution network, develops wind power capacities and is the sole foreign company, still involved in the government's EUR 4bn project for the construction of units 3 and 4 of the Cernavoda nuclear plant. Out of the total, EUR 500mn will be invested in new 400MW wind power capacities, Mediafax quoted the company's CEO Fulvio Conti as saying at a news conference in London.
