Italian-Albanian consortium wins EUR 14.4mn contract to build prison in Skodra.

A consortium of Italys CGF Costruzioni Generali and Albanian Alba Konstruksion has been selected winner in a EUR 14.4mn tender for the construction of a pre-detention centre and prison in Shkodra, northern Albania, the European Commission informed on its tender portal. The contract will be implemented in a 24-month period. The complex is designed to accommodate 120 male, juvenile and female pre-detainees and 600 prisoners. It will be built on 30,000 sq m of gross floor space. The EU has already financed the construction of a pre-detention centre in Vlora.
